GROUPE SOS has been fighting against HIV/AIDS since the group’s creation in 1984, whether it be by providing medico-psycho-social assistance to HIV/AIDS sufferers, undertaking preventive actions targeting students, the LGBT community as well as migrants and insecure people, or by conducting awareness campaigns directed at the general public, health and social care professionals, enterprises and public decision makers.
These actions influence the lives of over 400.000 people every year.
The changing face of the HIV/AIDS epidemic continues to pose new challenges to our society. To deal with these challenges, GROUPE SOS created the first HIV/AIDS rapid screening centre as well as a Social Life Support Centre for persons suffering from chronic and disabling pathologies (HIV/AIDS, cancer, neurological diseases, etc.). GROUPE SOS also publishes a quarterly magazine called Le Journal du Sida (the AIDS journal), a key reference in the fields of HIV-AIDS and associated pathologies, patients’ rights, scientific research and public health policies.
