Functioning principles

Professional teams

With a concern for efficiency, the associations of Groupe SOS have decided to form professional teams for each field of action. Hence project development by each association is entrusted to professionals concerned by the various sectors:

- medical and paramedical sector: doctors, psychologists, health care workers...
- social care sector: social workers, residential care workers, mediators….

Decentralised management frameworks to respond to practical problems

Today, Groupe SOS concerns 100 frameworks divided among 12 French regions. The management of those establishments is widely decentralised:
-A manager at the head of each structure
-Regional directors to co-ordinate the actions of the various structures within their region.

In order to promote a coherence in the work practices of the various teams, regular exchanges are organised between the personnel of member associations.

A human resources management based on the principle of social democracy

Employees need to enjoy satisfying and fulfilling working conditions, an essential factor to facilitate the development of care providers. One principal element is that Groupe SOS members strive to respect democratic work procedures. Equality in the ratio of men and women employed (especially for managers), the diversity of professional origins, the presence of ex-users alongside qualified personnel, an internal mobility with the possibility for promotion are examples of the ways in which the Groupe SOS attempts to put social democracy into practice.

Financial transparency and budgetary control

The financial management of the establishments of Groupe SOS is provided by accounting and financial professionals from Alliance Gestion . At the end of each financial year the accounts are controlled by external experts and certified by financial auditors to attain the greatest transparency. The Alliance Gestion economic interest group is also in charge of the implementation and monitoring of the budgetary control proceedings. In order to aid their decision-making, analytic documents are regularly provided to the directors of establishments.
